| Etnobotánica | Cabezón, Pata de gallina (Las hojas, semillas y raíces se reportan comestibles. La planta tiene propiedades antihemorrágicas, diuréticas y vulnerarias. El extracto acuoso de la planta completa, es la base para un ungüento con propiedades hemostáticas y vulnerarias, éste aplicado en el bajo vientre se usa para tratar la metrorragia. El jugo de la planta mezclado con miel de abeja se usa contra la epistaxis; administrado vía oral, 3 veces por día, es efectivo contra la menorragia. La decocción de las hojas, mezclada con azucar, se emplea como diurético. El extracto alcohólico de la planta entera, tiene actividad contra Vaccinia virus. La infusión de la planta completa es usada en Las Guayanas contra las afecciones de la vejiga, alopecia, convulsiones infantiles, diarrea, hipertensión, mialgia y oliguria) |
