This project will be creating electronic keys, starting with family, followed by genus, and then species. The keys will be based on descriptions coded in LUCID format created for the Centre for Biological Information Technology (CBIT) at the University of Queensland, Australia and DELTA ( DEscription Language for TAxonomy) format developed by M. J. Dallwitz, T. A. Paine, and E. J. Zurcher in CSIRO, Australia. LUCID and DELTA are flexible methods of coding data and taxonomy identification

| LUCID y PHOENIX |
| |
Lucid is a powerful system for developing and executing multiple states electronic keys. Phoenix is a system for developing digitally dichotomized keys. Both systems could link images and Internet websites. The most outstanding advantage of this software is that runs on Windows, Macintosh or UNIX. The only system requirement is a JAVA version 1.4.2 or better, should be installed on your PC. If you do not have it, you could download it from www.java.com., it is free software .
The application can take a few seconds to load . All keys are in development process , if you have any problems or errors, please send an E-mail to flora_digital@sloth.ots.ac.cr describing the issue. |

| INTKEY
|

Intkey is an interface program for executing electronic keys developed by the authors of the DELTA system. This tool can automatically separate taxonomy groups based on a list of diagnostic features selected by the user. Intkey is for use on Windows only. To use Intkey, first download and install the software (2MB) to your computer, then follow the instructions below .
|
| |
Instructions for using the key:
|
| |
- Download Intkey by clicking here
- Install Intkey onto your computer. Double-click on the file downloaded in step #1. Follow the instructions of the program installer. Make sure to remember where you saved the file, most commonly on the hard disc (C:\) in the folder named DELTA.
- Download and save the dataset to your computer by clicking on the link below :
- Once you have downloaded the dataset, double-click on the name of the file to open and unzip it.
- Check the folder where the files have been downloaded (commonly C:\delta\selva) and press “Extract” to unzip the files .
- Open the Intkey program by “Start Menu” then “Windows Programs”.
- With the program open, press the “Browse” button, look for the dataset (commonly C:\delta\selva\) open it by double-clicking on selva.ink file.
